As the Director of Technical and Product Development, Dr. Metzger leads efforts to improve processing technology and development of new raw materials and farm crops. His team is also responsible for new products, scaling from bench to production batches, and ensuring quality from seed to supplement.
- In 2008, Dr. Metzger received a doctorate in nutritional science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
- In 2002, Dr. Metzger enrolled in the University of Wisconsin Nutrition Science program where he studied in the animal science department. His work focused on nutritional supplement ingredients for the prevention of cardiovascular disease. He also published research on buckwheat protein, anti-inflammatory properties of colored carrots, and reduction of blood lipids with calorie restriction.
- Before joining Standard Process in 2000 as a laboratory, Dr. Metzger worked for two years on the development of echocardiography and MRI contrast agents in the biotech industry.
- Dr. Metzger also graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry
